Malerkotla, 24 December (000) – The state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has started providing 43 types of government services to the people at their homes from Ludhiana on December 10. This scheme has picked up full speed in District Malerkotla.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pallavi said that under this scheme, till December 23, around 271 people have registered themselves to avail services by calling toll-free number 1076.
She further informed that 193 people in the Malerkotla subdivision, 33 in Amargarh subdivision, and 45 people in Ahmedgarh subdivision have contacted through toll-free numbers to book appointments for 284 services.
She said that under the ‘Bhagwant Maan Sarkar, Tuhade Duar’ scheme, doorstep delivery of services has been started through which services will be provided seamlessly from the government to the citizens. The initiative will provide citizens of the state with all 43 important services – such as birth and death certificates, income, residence, caste, pension, electricity bill payment, and other services at their doorsteps. Citizens of the state can avail of these services by calling a dedicated helpline number 1076 and scheduling a pre-appointment at their convenience.
In this regard, five service assistants have been posted for three tehsils of the district and their number will be increased as per requirement. She said that a citizen can get a maximum of four services at a time.
