Hoshiarpur, March 12
Traders and industrialists of Hoshiarpur praised the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the unique initiative like ‘Government-Business Meeting’.
Vyapar Mandal President Gopi Chand Kapoor thanked the Chief Minister for several steps taken for the welfare of traders and industrialists of the region. He said that ‘Government-Business Meeting’ is playing an important role in resolving the pending issues of the business community. He said that this unique and unprecedented incident in the history of Punjab politics is solving the problems of traders on the spot.
In his address, Deepak Marwaha said that it is a matter of great joy that the Chief Minister has come here to solve the problems of the people, whereas the old rulers never cared about it. He praised the Chief Minister for introducing several pro-people policies for the welfare of the common man, thereby ushering in a new era of development. He also said that the Chief Minister’s vision for the progress and prosperity of the state is visionary and he has a spirit of dedication.
In response, the Chief Minister announced the release of Rs 2.5 crore to the Municipal Corporation for the construction of a state-of-the-art building of the fire station. He said that the existing fire station from Railway Road will be converted and this space will be used for vehicle parking, which will reduce the crowd of vehicles in the market.
During this, businessman Tarun Chawla said that the state government under the leadership of the Chief Minister is working as a supporter for industry and business. He assured full support to the Punjab Government to make Punjab the number one state in the field of industry and trade. He sought the intervention of the Chief Minister to provide canal water for industrial purposes.
In response to this demand, the Chief Minister said that the state government is considering providing canal water for the use of industrialists. He said that this will help in saving underground water and will benefit industrialists on a large scale. He said that a technical committee will be formed to make this process fair.
Hoshiarpur Industrial Area Head Sanjeev Singla raised the issue of development of the industrial area to give impetus to industry and trade. He praised the Chief Minister for several exemplary initiatives to promote industry in Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that this industrial area is PSIEC. has been handed over and development work will be started soon with a sum of Rs 1 crore. He said that tenders will be issued for these works in the coming days and exemplary development of this area will be ensured.
JS from International Tractors Chouhan said that the single window facility like ‘Invest Punjab’ started by the Chief Minister is the best in the whole of India. He thanked the Chief Minister for his visionary thinking in providing facilities to industry in Punjab. He appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene to provide a new focal point in the district for the growing needs of the industry.
Madhusudan Jain said that Punjab is fortunate to have a visionary Chief Minister in the form of Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said that for the first time people have faith that the government is working for them. He raised issues related to the handicraft industry of Hoshiarpur, which is world famous.
