Petrol diesel price: Big reduction in oil prices before the Lok Sabha elections by the Modi government

The new prices are effective from 6 am today. With the reduction in prices, the price of petrol in the national capital has gone up to Rs 96.72 and diesel to Rs 87.62 per litre. The central government deregulated petrol and diesel prices about ten years ago and oil prices are now fixed and announced by oil companies.

Before the Lok Sabha elections, oil companies have announced a reduction of two rupees per liter in the price of petrol and diesel. It has been decided to reduce oil prices for the first time in the last two years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a reduction of Rs 100 per cylinder in cooking gas prices on the occasion of Women’s Day last week.The new prices are effective from 6 am today. With the reduction in prices, the price of petrol in the national capital has gone up to Rs 96.72 and diesel to Rs 87.62 per litre. About ten years ago, the central government freed the petrol and diesel prices from its control (Diesel Petrol New Rate Today) and the oil prices are now determined and announced by the oil companies.
