Continuing its special drive, Malerkotla Police executed extensive Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) across the district, apprehending 311 wanted individuals linked to various cases. This operation is part of the ongoing campaign to make Punjab safe as per the vision of CM Bhagwant Mann.
Conducted on the directions of DGP Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, the meticulously planned CASO was led by DSPs and SHOs, raiding over 200 houses marked as hideouts of criminals.
This adds to the commendable achievements of Malerkotla Police, with 361 arrests in 5 CASO operations in the last month. Since November 22, 311 wanted accused have been apprehended, bringing justice to over 152 complainants.
The 311 arrests encompass individuals accused in 420 cases, involving matrimonial disputes, NDPS Act violations, theft, heinous crimes, and other petty offences.
Significantly, many habitual offenders were booked under Section 110 CrPC. This emphasises the comprehensive nature of the crackdown. The significant number of proclaimed offenders was also nabbed during the drive.
The booked individuals have been strictly instructed against criminal activities in the future, failing which they will face legal action under Section 110 CrPC which empowers police to take preventive action against individuals likely to engage in activities jeopardising public peace.
